We use the best EV charging stations in Long Beach from the industry’s most trusted brands including Bosch, ClipperCreek, EV-Box, GE, Leviton, and Schneider Electric. Most EV owners install a 240-volt circuit with 30-amp, 40-amp, or 50-amp circuit breakers. There are multiple benefits to installing the best 240-volt EV charger in your home, like faster charging and better energy efficiency. A 240-circuit can be installed with a circuit breaker of anywhere from 15 to 100 amps, providing significantly faster recharge speeds compared to a 110-volt household outlet.

You can rest easy knowing that your 240-volt EV car charger will fully charge your vehicle in just a few hours. Just plug in each night and wake up to a full battery every morning. Schedule your FREE in-home consultation today!

Let Penna Electric help ensure your home is ready for charging your new Tesla electric vehicle. Our licensed electricians will install your charging circuit conveniently next to your Tesla charging port – which is located in the driver side rear taillight. As with any home improvement project involving the electrical system, a permit and city or county inspection may be required. We will check with your city to see if one is required before we begin the installation.

Long Beach EV charging costs are just a fraction of the cost of powering a gasoline car – so your savings will add up fast. Tesla recommends charging your new EV overnight in off-peak hours to wake up to a fully charged vehicle.

Frequently Asked Questions about EV Chargers

In general, the average cost for a 240-volt charging station installation in Long Beach ranges between $550 – $2,850. The cost depends on several factors, including the needed voltage and amperage, as well as the distance between your electrical panel and the location where your electric vehicle charging station will be installed.

The level 1 charger comes with your car when you buy an electric vehicle. It uses a standard connection and can be plugged into a traditional home outlet. This charging method isn’t as fast or efficient as the level 2 EV charger.

A level 2 EV charging station speeds up the charging of your car and offers a longer drive range. This is an upgrade that you will have to install at your own expense. It’s usually mounted on the outside wall of your house and it has a 240-volt connection.

If you drive long distances and you don’t have easy access to a public EV charging station, then you should consider investing in a level 2 EV charger. The convenience of having a fast power charger right at your own home will save you time and energy not having to drive to a commercial station every time you need to recharge your vehicle.

For a level 1 charger with a 120-volt and 20-amp circuit, it will take 25 hours to charge your car, considering a 100 miles battery capacity. For level 2 EV charging stations with 240-volt and 40-amp circuits, it will take 4 to 5 hours for the same battery capacity.

Yes, your electric bill will go up, but your gas costs will disappear. The costs of charging your electric vehicle in Long Beach are just a small fraction of what you pay at the pump. Other than the savings in gas, you can take advantage of the many rebates and discounts available from utility companies, and also by charging your car during time frames when the kW/h is lowest.

Not really. If installed properly, or built modularly, pieces can be easily replaced. EV charging stations that have online connectivity can also provide remote diagnostics and repair, so you don’t have to worry in the rare event of charger malfunction.
